Dear all,
After talking to one or two experienced members I have changed the venue of the 1st workshop meeting.
The first meeting will be held at the Royal Russell School, on the same day and time. If clear I will arrange for some telescopes to be brought to the school.
We are going to look at an Introduction to Observing. At the first meeting we will look at the basics of observing and learn what you would like us to cover.
All subsequent workshop meetings will be held at Kenley, hopefully once a month.
I hope we can arrange some mid-week observing this winter, as I know there was some interest several months ago.

Dear all,
Several weeks ago I asked members, during a meeting whether anyone would be interested in an astronomy workshop at the observatory; which would be designed for beginners or intermediate level.
The first meeting will be in the form in an open forum, so we can find out what you want from us.
In view we have a number of group visits and open public evenings during November, I managed to set aside a date in November. This will be Friday 7th November at 8pm.
We hope to have some experienced members at the meeting to give advice.
If anyone does not have transport but would like to attend then we may be able to arrange a taxi run from Kenley Station. If you need a lift we will need to know well in advance of the meeting.
Please let me know by directly by email if you would like to attend, rather than use altair_b.
If it is clear we may do some observing as well.
