It has a rugged frame made out of 5mm thick aluminum, and a new VT100 emulator.

question on the backplane configuration.

would i not be better to have the backplane on a 25 pin cable so that you have flexibility of moving it to a better viewing position?
also having the board out the back could lead to accidental breakage the plastic legs are easy to snag a cable when you push it back on the table.

i don't know if you saw my take on the backplane?

Yeah.  I want to make it available to retrofit on an existing Altair-Duino Experimenter.  If you want the full size, you'll have to buy the Pro (or whatever it ends up being called).
