Progress is steady, just slower than I’d like. :)
Right now I’m deep in the mechanical design phase. I’m creating the measurements and reference drawings for roughly a dozen parts that my engineer will convert into proper 3D CAD models and manufacturing drawings. I’d say I’m about 80% done with my side of that work.
Once the engineering files are finalized, they go to my manufacturer. After that, it’s usually about a month before I receive the first sample cases for evaluation and fit testing.
So the project is definitely moving forward - it’s just being developed in the gaps between my day job and packing/shipping existing kits. I’d rather move carefully and get it right than rush it out the door.
I’m excited about it too. The full-size 680 is going to be a really fun machine.
I do have a few PC boards that will fit in an original 680 case. I couple guys have built those to put in their empty cases.
