I'm seeing a behavior with my AD which I first like to check if it is a known issue before digging deeper myself.
  • I have set up several configurations in the settings. Configuration 0 has the WiFi device as the host serial device, 1 has the VT100, and 2 the USB Programming port.
  • #define USE_HOST_FILESYS 1 is in config.h, and I can see the separate CFG files on the SD card.
  • The configurations work. when I (by default) boot into configuration 0, I can then go into the setup, activate another configuration and answer with y on the new host serial device.
  • What I almost never can do is boot into a configuration with the front panel. It always boots into the default configuration. And yes I am using the correct switches.
  • All switches work, including the deposit switch (i.e. I can deposit data into the current address).
  • Only very, very sporadically does the front panel select work, maybe 1 in 50 or even less. The next time I try the very same thing it fails again.
My hunch is that the SD card is too slow, or maybe better not use USE_HOST_FILESYS ? My next step is to set it to 0 and re-flash the Due, unless someone already has a clear answer.

It's not a show stopper, but I am annoyed when something doesn't work properly...

Thanks!

So I troubleshooted it. Started by setting #define USE_HOST_FILESYS to 0 and re-flashed the Due. Downloaded a fresh set of SD card content and copied it to a new SD card. Eventually found the culprit by eliminating what does work.

It's not moving the filesystem to the SD card, or the SD card itself. It's the Due Programming USB port. That configuration just doesn't want to start by selecting it on the front panel at boot, but it does by selecting it in the settings and activating it. Strange, but okay. I moved the USB serial device to the native USB port on the Due and that just works. I don't know if that's ever mentioned somewhere or only an issue in my particular setup, but I consider it fixed for me. It only means that for re-flashing the Due I now have to open the cover. Talk about First World Problems.
