... or for any alternative recommendation(s) on sourcing a replica/clone Altair 8800 cabinet?
This group was recommended to me by John T. Kennedy in the S100Computers group.  The story so far: this page -  https://deramp.com/altair_8800c.html says under "Cabinet" that

"As of Spring 2024, Chris Davis has taken over production of the Altair 8800 Clone cabinet. Visit this page fover more information."

I've followed the link and signed up for notification as to when the cases might be ready to order/ship but haven't heard anything yet.  If there's a good alternative out there that you know of (and that will work with Tood Goodman's 9-slot backplanes and the front panel board from https://deramp.com/altair_8800c.html) I'd be willing to give it a try, since at this point I think I've sourced/ordered most of the main necessary compoents to build an 8800 clone.  If there's interest I'd be willing to put together a google sheet/PDF of the basic set of large parts, where I'vre found them, and what the costs are.  My memory and a large-ish collection of gmails under my label "Altair" are reaching their limits.

CAVEAT: At this point I've only dipped my toes into the water to find mostly bare boards.  The next step will be to decide on wire-wrap vs. point-to-point soldering (likely the former) and begin chasing down the chips, resistors, capacitors, LEDs and switches needed to pupulate them.

Thanks,
Jim Rauser

Good news: Chris is working on that right now.

I am not aware of any alternate Altair 8800 enclosure (short of waiting for one to show up on eBay).  I am hoping to have them available by the end of the year.

End of the year will probably be okay.  I just ordered a "parts kit" for a replica  Altair CPU board off of eBay; no idea if it's the RIGHT set of parts for the CPU boards I've already got on the way from Gary Kaufmann, but I cn read a schematic and (re-learn to read) the resistors' color codes, so I figure (/HOPE!) this will give me something of a leg up on the next step of this project - sourcing all of the electronics.

Welcome to the long S100 journey or the “So you have discovered you have too much money” course.

One thing that occurs to me: you do know you won’t have a front panel control board, right? With switches and LEDs? Cases do not come with that. You’ll have a CPU board, and then you’ll need to worry about memory, storage, interfaces..

I have the front panel interface and the companion front panel pwb for which I need something for an alignment jig in order to stuff the board.
