This Summer School may interest undergrads, postgrads and community members interested in learning about language sciences and technologies. Sessions include:
· Machine learning with Indigenous Languages (Daan van Esch, computational linguist from Google, 4-day course)
· Visualizing Language Data (Lydia Byrne)
· Opie Robots: Develop language material and building your own robot (Scott Heath and the Indigenous Language Technologies team, UQ)
· Master class: Human interactions as the foundations for language (Stephen Levinson, psycholinguist from Max Plank)

Who can attend: everyone – some sessions are aimed at introducing computer scientists and linguists to Indigenous Language Technologies; other sessions cover different areas of language sciences.
This Summer School is also good background for students interested in UQ’s Indigenous Language Technology MPhil/PhD scholarships.
