ALTA Monthly Seminar - 2nd Round

Hi all,

ALTA has started a monthly seminar (first Thursday AEST 9am) where we have US+AUS phd students giving NLP/GenAI talks for a general audience. We had a great turn out for the first seminar last month (~40 participants), and this month we'll have the 2nd seminar tomorrow (Thursday) at AEST 9am. Abid (Macquarie) will talk about multimodal news summarisation and Denis (UC Berkley) will talk about law and LLM. Please circulate this to your network - all is welcome!

We've created a google group for the seminar so please join if you are interested (we'll be posting monthly reminders to the google group henceforth). For more details on the seminar, see this webpage and this poster for this month's talk.
