Hi AltAnalyze team!

This may be the most basic question ever, but I'm having some real issues installing/opening AltAnalyze for the first time. When I try to open AltAnalyze, it directs me to look at the log file, which reads as follows:

Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "AltAnalyze.py", line 5916, in <module>
File "AltAnalyze.py", line 5898, in runCommandLineVersion
File "AltAnalyze.py", line 5890, in cleanUpCommandArguments
IndexError: list index out of range

When I tried googling this error message, I just end up with lots of hits talking about python in general....do I need to download some dependency I'm missing?

I know this should be easy, so I would greatly appreciate if you could tell me what I'm doing wrong. I would really appreciate your help and I'm very excited to use your program!

Thanks!   Elizabeth

Hi Elizabeth,

AltAnalyze can be run either using the graphical user
interface or command-line version. The command-line
version only works (by default) on the python source code
version of AltAnalyze. The graphical user interface
version works on all versions but requires that AltAnalyze
be installed on a local, not remote machine.

The error below seems to indicate that are running by
command-line but there is a problem with the input
arguments. Can you indicate which operating system (e.g.,
Windows 7), AltAnalyze version (e.g.,
AltAnalyze_v.2.0.4-Py) and how you are starting AltAnalyze
(e.g., entering a certain command-line argument or
clicking on the AltAnalyze.exe icon).

Best,
Nathan
