INCREASING OUR DESIRE FOR GOD

"Now the question arises, how can we increase this desire
for God, or give birth to it, if it is not yet awakened? By keeping
the company with him who has what you want. If you wish to be a
wrestler, keep the company of a wrestler, or if your are interesting
in learning, then keep the company of a learned person. The radiation
absorbed whilst in the company of a Saint will bring untold Benefit.
The company of a person who is self-centered (i.e., Soul-centered)
will give you tje radiation of His life. Maulana Rumi says, 'If you
have the company of a Saint . . . and if you sit by Him for an hour,
you will have His radiation . You will have more advancement and
progress this way than by putting in hundreds of years of devotion'"

This is one of my favorite books ever, and this passage by Kirpal
Singh discusses - from a slightly different angle - what Shiv Dayal
Singh was saying about the benefits of a living Master in Sar Bachan
Radhasoami. Please take this to heart in your mediation. You will be
surprised how far Kirpal's wisdom can penetrate within.
