You need an "openssl" command from the OpenSSL package installed on your
box. Try this:
Connect with:
openssl s_client -connect imap.googlemail.com:imaps
When you're connected, say:
0 capability
For a typical (standardised, though not in IMAP) no-operation command, do:
1 noop
And then the added spice:
2 xyzzy
Finish:
3 logout
It's always nice to know that Interactive Fiction's earliest heritage is
never forgotten. I really *must* get around to finishing Adventure (I
started again very recently). Even as we play many modern games, we owe
our debt of thanks to other pioneers of IF, like Infocom for the
Z-machine. It's too easy to forget these things sometimes.
Cheers,
Sabahattin
