Just got done making a flan too....take vanilla pudding the kind you
have to cook.....let it cool slightly...pour into the flan,set in
fridge til totally set...open a can of cherry pie filling and put on
top of the cake...this is really good...and the canned fruit you can
use anyone you choose..we like cherry the best..if you dont have a
flan pan,you can buy a flan already made up in the bakery section of
your store....its quick and easy,and great in the summertime

Oh my....they come in a see throu package....its like a quarter of a
cake with scalloped edges....not much cake to it....I can't believe
you haven't heard of them...I will see if there is a picture on here

here is a picture of my flan pan....you don't put much cake batter in
it because the center is raised up after the cake cools that is where
the vanilla pudding goes...in the center....then the cherries....now
get to the store and bake a flan LOL

You know in our grocery stores they are usually kept in the fruits
section...and in ours they have them sitting near the strawberrys....
That is a different kind of Flan....this is from Germany I believe...
As a child we picked wild blackberries and any other wild fruit we
could.
Strawberries, elderberries, cherries, apples, blueberries ~~ you name
it, we picked it.
My mom would can them, and also make preserves for canning.
We had a walk-in pantry and enjoyed cobblers and pies all winter.
