Writers –

Publishers and film producers are actively buying.

Last year alone, over 150,000 new books were published. Six-figure advances are becoming common.

If you have an unpublished work - a book manuscript, or a TV or film script, or you've written an article you'd like to sell,  please let me know. Even if you've had prior rejections, please e-mail me with a one-line description of your work.

Best,

P. Barry Jones

Hi Barry,

What is a "publication specialist"?

Who are you?

What have you done?

Who have you secured deals for?

Where are you located?

Why should any writer with a brain take you up on this without knowing a
single thing about you?

I look forward to your substantive answers.

Best wishes,

MC

What, precisely, is a "publication specialist"?

Still waiting for an answer to the perfectly reasonable question.

Hello "MC" -

I'm someone connected to the publishing and film production industries.
My personal directory of industry associates includes chief editors at all
of the major publishing houses, film studio presidents, producers and
top-rated directors.

I'm someone who can help an unpublished writer with unsold properties get a
read. Can I get someone published? No. Can I get someone's film script
produced? No.

I can get them read.

Am I an agent? No.
Am I looking for a commission? No.
Am I looking to end this miserable experience of query letter shuffling and
form-letter rejections? Yes.

There are people looking for quality content -- in publishing and in the
media - they're resorting to sequels and re-releases of old, tired concepts
because they cannot find new material - largely because there's no efficient
way of reviewing, judging, and managing that process.

We're going to end that. In early 2005, the way writers market their work
will change. So, why "any writer with a brain" would be interested should be
obvious. The only writers I can think of, that would not be interested in a
new method of marketing their work, would be writers who are already
published. You sound like one. So, congratulations. If not, I'd be happy to
let you know when the site goes public and wish you well.

Best,

PBJ

Thanks. I'd be interested to see what exactly this consists of when the
site goes public, because there are no specifics posted there now.

You sound utterly full of shit. You're "connected to" publishing in what way?
You work the night shift on the janitorial staff at Random House? "Any writer
with a brain" wouldn't give a moment's consideration to someone making a lot of
vague claims without the least substantiation.

I agree, I am a published writer, I have sold my works into productions and
I have been serialized, but I have never heard of anyone who calls
themselves a specialist. It seems odd. Maybe it is the new wave, but still
sounds strange from this point.
