Watercolour Queen by Laura Rose
---------------------------------------------------
She is shortcake and caramel cream,
The true beauty behind the canvas,
November mist meets summer sun,
A culmination of nature and something uniquely man-made,
Boudicca at her easel,
Indigo eyes set in smooth porcelain.
Fixed upon a canvas,
Like the focal point of her life,
Watercolour queen,
Floating on her palette,
Free to image......
and recreate.
Shades of blue and strawberry blonde,
Represent the indescribable,
And still 10 years on she paints the last sunset
and sketches every face as if it were a million words,
A novelist with her paintbrush,
Putting the world in perspective.
For she is Ms. White on Blonde,
Hidden in her oil-based cocoon,
Monet's little sister draws like a graceful fairy
upon the scarlet sky,
And empties her mind upon the page.
