researching the world's most outrageous scams

slightly confusing newsgroup this - expected it to be people's stories of
scams, but there are actually internet scams posted in it!

I'm researching scams for a TV programme so if any of you have any stories
of really deceptive or just plain cheeky scams currently in operation, then
please respond.

Marcus. While things have been fairly quiet lately (other than the
usual spammers posting their scams), we've had some interesting posts
in the not-too-distant past.

In case you hadn't heard, the Deerings pled guilty and the Woodside
folks have recently been arrested. Coming on top of what happened to
Edit Ink when the New York Attorney General got 'em, that's some good
news that scams against authors are being taken seriously.

You might also want to contact Victoria Strauss, Ann Crispin, and Lois
Tilton.

One more thing ... and you can quote me ... To avoid being scammed,
remember Yog's Law: "Money flows _toward_ the writer."
