I handled some Lyptus recently
<<http://www.weyerhaeuser.com/ourbusinesses/buildingproducts/buildingmaterials/ourproducts/lyptus/lyptushardwoodplywood.asp>>.
It's heavy, grain looks very nice. A friend told me it moves more than
oak, so humidity might be an issue.

I'm curious if anyone has milled any up for furniture work...

I haven't, but just read an article about it. Sounds like it would be
interesting to play with.

I have used it. Haven't noticed that much movement but I live in
Colorado where it is arid.

It takes tung oil well.

Holds an edge too. I almost cut myself on corners -- definitely use a
champher.

Cool.

What are you paying for the board foot out there? I'm in Portland.
I've priced it out at $3.50 'ish.

That's less than I paid -- I bought my last batch about a year ago. I
believe I paid about $4.50.
