Hermit Crabs

2 years ago, when we went "down the ocean" Taylor and Jared each bought hermit
crabs. Taylor's lived about 8 mos and last year when we went "down the ocean"
she got another. Stripe (Taylor's) is still hanging in there..so it's about 1
yr old) Jared's died earlier this year. So this year, when we went back he
got another. (Batman 2..Batman 1 died.) This even had the batman logo on it's
shell. So we travel home and in his cage is about 3 other shells. Who knows
when they'll "grow out" of their shell. Well the kids came yelling down the
stairs about Batman. I thought it died. I was tawking to a certain misfit on
the phone. Turned out Batman changed shells. Well.....darn if he didn't go to
ANOTHER shell and when I had Taylor put a bigger shell in the cage, he ended up
in that one. So Taylor had taken the big shell out of her cage and switched
with one in Jared's cage. Taylor's crab has plenty of room it it's shell.
Dang if her crab didn't end up switching shells, too. Now...as long as we've
had hermit crabs in this house, not one of them has switched shells and last
night we had Batman change 3 different times. I told Jared he was smart..he
tried out all the shells and kept the one he liked best....and then Stripe
ended up changing shells, too. I might have to read up on this shell changing
stuff LOLOL

And I thought they were yelling Batman changed shows and was now on Spiderman
and I was going NO WAY!!!!

I knew they changed shells..I just think it's ironic the first 2 crabs we had
never changed. Let's just say they were all given the same opportunity. We
don't descriminate <g>
