Yes, is there a zip/unzip utility in Win98 [I can't find it] or should I
install one?

There are none that I am aware of. You can go to www.winzip.com and
download their latest version.

Not included. There are many good utilities, however. Try PKZip -- www.pkware.com
(the original zip program), Filewrangler -- www.cursorarts.com (integrated into an
enhanced file manager), or Winzip -- www.winzip.com (adds-on to the context menus,
but also changes icons and seems a bit overblown IMO).

Or the best of all, in my opinion, ZipMagic.

Hi there!

There's an other way to handle ZIP- and other archives within Windows 9x.
MIJENIX Corp. offers two Explorer-Extensions (ZIP-Folders & ZIP-Magic),
which handle ZIP-archives as folders. Other archives can be opened with an
included utility (Archive Manager). The demos work 30 + 10 days; the
software costs about $40 ( DM 70; € 35). Visit them at
