It may f. e. appear if you try to install the Windows 98 OEM version
over an existing Windows installation.

Not sure if this will apply, but SU167 means that there is a file or folder
named "Desktop" on your drive. You must rename or move your current
"Desktop" folder and run setup again.

I can not find an error message for setup SU168, but will look again.

Boot to the MS-DOS Mode of Windows 95, rename the WIN.COM of Windows
95, then start the Windows 98-Setup from the DOS prompt.

First you will have to make sure, that you can access the CD-ROM from
plain DOS. For this you may backup your AUTOEXEC.BAT and the
CONFIG.SYS, then install the DOS drivers for your CD-ROM drive from
MS-DOS. If you have installed Windows 98, replace the AUTOEXEC.BAT and
the CONFIG.SYS with the versions you have backed up before.
