I've been fooling around with Win95 for about two months now, so this may
be a very foolish question...please bear with me.
Moving to the Win95 environment prompted an upgrade in web browsers, so I
put the Win95 version of IE3.0 on my system. I put several of the
accessory packs on as well, and fell in love with Active Movie. IT was
GREAT to have ONE program load my AVIs, MPG's, MOVs, etc. And having the
same display/control structure was a real boon as well. But, most of all,
I loved the way it would let you play MPG's AS you were downloading.
This way, you didnt have to wait 45 minutes to see if you liked
something. 3 or four minutes into it and you had a second or so clip to
make up your mind....
Now for the problem. It stopped working....
Whenever I tried to play a media file, I got an error message from RUNDLL.
Error loading amovie.ocx
One of the library files needed to run this application cannot be found.

Ok....I delete the critter (Add/remove software...not actually deleting
the files....) and try to reinstall.

After reinstalling the software, it attempts to update the registry. I
then get the following message:
Setup was not able to register the ActiveMovie Controll.
After completing setup reboot your computer and run setup again.

I checked out the File Types to see what these are setup as. Under, for
example, Movie Clip (Mpeg)and Play it has this 'application used to
perform action'
rundll32 amovie.ocx,RunDll /play /close
If I click ok on this, it tells me that the specified program could not
be found. I have tried ADDING the extension (.exe) to the rundll32, and
it clears up THIS error, but I still cant play.

So, any bright ideas out there?

Thanks for any and all help...

BTW, if at all possible, I would appreciate any responses E-mailed...
For some reason, my web and news access if acting screwy lately. E-mail
I can get from my shell account....
Again, thanks!
