No, a .wpd file is a WordPerfect document.

Hi all. I recieved an important .wpd file and cannot get it to open. I
have Windows good ol' WordPad and Microsoft Office. Any hints? Isn't
.wpd a wordpad extension?

Hi Donna,
It is a WordPerfect file, and you will need a WP-compatible viewer.

If you don't have access to WordPerfect, have your correspondent do a "Save
As" Word 6.0/95 and give the file a *.doc name. Unless it's VERY heavily
formatted (with lots of footnotes, comments, and other arcana) you'll be
able to open and read it in Word.
