Have a friend with a puter problem that I would like to help out, as
he can hardly afford to replace his old laptop. Due to some nasty
infection that I have not been able to get out, we have come to the
conclusion that a format and reload would be the key to get the old
Compaq Armada 7800 back up and running. This old puter only has a CD
drive and no floppy. It currently runs Win2K OS. My idea was to burn
the Win98 bootup files to a CD on my puter, change the boot sequence
to the CD drive in the Compaq then boot from the CD and format. BIG
PROBLEM! If this will even work I can't get into the Compaq's BIOS.
I've tried every F key during bootup and nothing works. I also tried
Esc as well as Del and nothing. Two questions. How can I get into the
BIOS and if I do, will my idea work? Thanks in advance for any help
you might be able to offer.
