I'm positive that someone has certainly asked this before but I cannot find
this question or an answer in this newsgroup.
How can I configure the NumLock key to off in WinME?

Thanks to those who posted in the NG and email. My BIOS, Phoenix, does not
offer this option. New computer which arrived with WinME and I cannot post
numlock=off in a config file. Not so enthused with ME and think I will drop
back to Win98. I find no advantage to ME over 98 and I could get around in
98 fairly good - like solving the numlock aggravation.

If such a little thing like that turns you back to 98 ,the simple pushing of
a button, then why waste our time with something so trivial? I think you
want to go back to 98 and just wanted a platform to let the world know and
give your self an excuse.
Numlock!!!! what a serious defect.
Here, see if you can get your head round this.
sV1="HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Microsoft\Input
Devices\Keyboard\NumLock"

SUB Plugin_Initialize
If GetWinVer=5 then

s=RegReadValue(sV1)

If IsEmpty(s) then SetUIElement 1,true
If s="ON" then SetUIElement 2,true
If s="OFF" then SetUIElement 3,true

else
Disable
end if
END SUB

SUB Plugin_CheckData(ElementIndex)
END SUB

SUB Plugin_Apply(ElementIndex,ElementSubIndex)
b=GetUIElement(1)
if b=true then
s=RegReadValue(sV1)
if IsEmpty(s)=false then RegDeleteValue(sV1)
end if

b=GetUIElement(2)
if b=true then
Call RegWriteValue(sV1,"ON",1)
end if

b=GetUIElement(3)
if b=true then
Call RegWriteValue(sV1,"OFF",1)
end if

Call Logoff
END SUB

SUB Plugin_Terminate
END SUB

Developing an exploit would require the cobbling together of a

to open it. Naming it sororitysuck.asx ought to do the trick here, we
reckon.
