I have checked for viruses (none), IRQ conflicts (none), gone from a PS2
mouse to a serial mouse and back (no results), checked my mice on other
computers (no problems), checked the serial and PS2 ports (no problems),
ownloaded new mouse drivers from both Microsoft and the mouse manufacturers,
and even used Netscape Navigator instead of IE 5.5, but none of these
actions had any influence.
One thing I have noted is that, if I put a regular DOS type mouse driver in
my AUTOEXEC.BAT, that alleviates the problem initially. However, if I log
off and then log back on to the internet, the same problem arises. Do you
know how hard it is to make permanent modifications to WinMe's AUTOEXEC.BAT?
I'm not sure you can. Anyway, that only fixes the problem for a few
minutes.
Anyway, I'm running out of ideas. Has anybody run into this problem before?
Know of any fixes? I would appreciate any help you can give me.

I have reinstalled Win98 on my computer. I'll see how well that works now.
Thanks again,
