Basically, it always strikes me as interesting whenever somebody describes something as "surreal". Is that a good thing? Ok, so something surreal means it has a dream-like quality to it. Whoop dee freakin' do. That's what I hear people call "Green Acres" all the time. Surreal. So if it something doesn't seem like something that would happen in a dream, that means it sucks? I don't know.

Exactly! Arnold the pig burrowing under Oliver's Christmas tree looking for the squeeze bulb because he believes all trees are artificial ones that squirt chemical pine scent. *That's* surrealism!
