ooc : Kae, if you don't mind, I'm going to put an idea into Pedron's head.
I had an idea for an interesting thread. If there is something that you
don't like about the post, change it before I continue it.

The sweat was drying on the brow of Lura as he was standing outside
Pedron K'Tasi's chambers. It was strange the Pedron summoned him, in all
the time that Lura had been learning from him. Lura's curiosity was peaked
as to what was up. He thought that maybe it had something to do with the
Band of the Red Hand that had been stationed outside our gates for that last
couple of weeks. They were gone now, have left yesterday. Maybe it had
something to do with that.

The door opened and Pedron, himself, was standing there. He looked at
Lura and said, "Good, you're here. Come in."

Pedron stood aside to allow Lura to enter the chamber. Lura walked in
and moved to his usual post by the window. He had gotten used to standing
there while Pedron administrated the holdings and the Children. Pedron
closed the door and moved to his desk. He sat down in the hard backed chair
and looked at Lura for several seconds without saying anything. Finally, he
said, "I have been thinking about our current situation. We are surrounded
by countries that harbor ill-will towards us. We need to do something to
show that The Children of Light aren't the same fanatics of old. The
populous of Ghealdea have quickly accepted us. They have realized that we
are more interested in providing a better life for them. In doing so, we
achieve our goal of thwarting the Dark One. As the Creator wills, we will
be able to defeat the Dark One and all of his minions.

"That brings us to our current problem. It is obvious that the
Borderlands are currently off-limits to us. I am hoping that King Neotar
will eventually come to realize that we are fighting the same enemy. I have
heard that he is an intelligent man and have to believe that he will
eventually come around. We haven't received word from Queen Galdia Naydir
is'al'Whitehorn of Cairhein. It is my belief that if we can convince her of
our objective and come to an understanding, that maybe we can make peace
with the second most powerful country in the Lands. The Queen's acceptance
will also carry a lot of weight around the rest of the countries. She is a
well respected and just leader, although she is Aes Sedai. I have discussed
it with Gared Brandor and we have come to the conclusion that the best way
for us to show our motives to Queen Galdia is to send someone personally to
see her and explain. I opted to send a delegation of our top generals, but
Gared suggested you."

Lura's eyes opened at that. Why would Gared Brandor want to do anything
for him. Lura wasn't a mediator, he was a warrior, what could he do. Lura
looked at Pedron, who was sitting at his desk expectantly. Lura was at a
lost for words. Finally, he managed to squeak out, "Why me?"

Pedron leaned back against the chair, he sat there with a slight smile
on his face and said, "Lura, you came to us as a strong warrior and since
you have been here, you have developed into one of the best swordsmen that I
have faced in a long time. But, what I, and Gared Brandor has also noted,
have admired more has been your development as a Child of Light. You
haven't been afraid to question the beliefs. You did join us to become a
Child of Light, and yet, you have embraced it and it fits you well. I want
you to represent us to Queen Galdia."

This was high praise coming from a man that had only discussed Lura's
faults. Lura didn't know what to make of it, but he knew that he would have
a lot of time to think about it during his travels to Cairhein. Lura looked
at Pedron K'Tasi, his mentor, and said, "Yes, Lord Captain Commander. I
will do you proud."

"I will leave the planning of the voyage up to you, Lura.", said Pedron.
"But there is one other thing. I believe that it would help our cause to
show Queen Galdia some of the sentiment that the people of Jehanna have been
showing us. If she sees how happy the citizens have become, if may aid our
cause. Choose out one or two of the population to travel with you. Try to
choose out of the population that hasn't joined the Children."

Lura thought that that would be a good idea. T'Nar, the boy that wanted
to become a whitecloak. Lura hadn't seen him in a while, but he didn't
think that it would be that difficult to track him down. Lura said to
Pedron, "I believe that I know of a person that would fit perfectly. There
is a young man by the name of T'Nar. I have talked with him on several
occasions and he seems to be quiet level-headed. He is one of the ones that
wanted to become a Child, but was turned away by Gared Brandor for being too
young. I think that he would work."

"I leave the discussion up to you."

ooc : no answer from either Pedron or Gared. If neither of them come
back... Let's not go there. Time to go visiting.

Lura Min had no problems tracking down the young man named T'Nar. It
seemed like everyone he talked to knew who he was talking about. Lura could
understand how such a man could become so well known, he was a very likable
young man. There was something about him that made Lura want to like him.
It was a strange feeling since Lura had never really had any friends before.
The only people that Lura actually became aquatinted with were swordmasters
that had agreed to train him. Oh well, Lura found that he wasn't the same
person since meeting with Pedron K'Tasi. Pedron had become a focal point in
his life and Lura counted himself lucky for having found him.

The carpenter that Lura asked about the where abouts of T'Nar had said
that the young man should be coming back through here any minute. Just as
the carpenter said that, T'Nar appeared from around the corner. Lura waved
the young man over with a grin. When T'Nar got there, Lura asked, "How
would you like to meet a Queen?"

A brief look of concern was followed by a look of confusion. Lura went
on to explain the trip to young T'Nar and waited for his answer.

OOC: Just reading through... I think we need to have an e-mail
chat... I obviously want what everyone wants, but I also think
we need to decide on a choice of where the Whitecloaks are
going. Gared and i have a plan, but I think that we all need to
agree on it before anything goes ahead...

No problem with me, but we should get this going before the thread tapers
off into nothing.
