Claire Dratch is a very traditional bridal shop in MD, not far from
Mazza Gallery (Gallerie? can't remember...but if you go, you can stop
for Kron's truffles ;-) They're a bit pricey, but they may well have
a selection that's a bit different from the usual. They also have a
large selection of formalwear (they cater to a lot of women attending
formal functions in DC), so if you're having a formal wedding you might
find good MOB/MOG dresses there also. It's been several years since I've
been there, so who knows how it is now, but it might be worth a try. I
had a good experience there buying my wedding gown, though my sister
didn't have as much luck.
Hope this helps,
Ericka Kammerer
BTW, we found lovely dresses - just what we were looking for - at Lord &
Taylor for half of most BM dresses we were looking at in bridal shops or
designer stores. I don't know when you're getting married, but don't rule
out some of the larger, more upscale department stores.

Carol Lewis and her staff there are really first rate, quite friendly,
and they have a good selection. (Well, it looks like a good selection
to me, but I'm just a guy, so...).
There will be a show coming up on March 26th at the Patriot Center in
Fairfax (rescheduled from January 30 when we had the last snowstorm),
that always has an excellent fashion show that includes bridesmaids
dresses. It's usually presented by "The Bridal Shoppe", which is
located in Manassas. They have a website at
http://www.thebridalshoppe.com If you're interested in the show and
need a ticket let me know and I'll send you one.
You can also get a listing of vendors at the Bridal Showcase website.
The direct link to attire is

You might also check out the Wedding Pages magazine and their website.
They have one edition for the DC area and one for Baltimore. They are
now pretty closely affiliated with The Knot website. You can start at:
