I am interested in any information on weddings where the theme is 'like'
Star Trek. That is, the wedding party is on the starship and is married
by the captain of the ship. Any links would be welcome. Thanks.

No, no, no... remember how my hand was pointing at a picture of a Vulcan in a
straightjacket? THAT was the link you were supposed to follow!
Try again!

Today's Bible Fak*toid:
(An "Family Values" special!!!)
"Jepthah promises God that if He will make him victorious in
battle, he will turn whoever first greets him afterwards into a
burnt offering. God fulfills His end of the bargain, and when
Jepthah comes home he is greeted by--his virgin daughter.
God, who has in past chapters decried the horror of child
sacrifice and who has used it to justify His bloody lack of mercy
toward Israel's neighbors (see Deuteronomy 18:9-12), sits
back and watches her burn."
Judges 11:30-39

Depending on if another Star Trek movie is released before your wedding
day, local Star Trek fan clubs often man booths at the theaters. They can
probably help you with "set" design, rituals, and props. If your time is
tight and you learn of a Star Trek convention near your area, go there to
locate your local fan club. There are many books on the various series
that are in larger bookstores that might also help. If you will recall,
the original series had a show where Captain Kirk was marrying a couple in
the ship's chapel. Sorry, I'm not a fan club member.

I have read about Star Trek weddings being held AT conventions, so you
may want to gather info about the large national and regional
conventions.
I'm interested in what you learn. Someone in my office suggested I add
Star Trek weddings to my theme page, but I found very little info and
couldn't do much. However, there is one firm in Las Vegas that does
theme weddings like this....

This is an option if you can't wait for a convention.
Good luck (and if you don't mind, e-mail me with any web resources you
find on this....)

Good luck with your planning! A friend of mine had a Star Trek wedding
many years ago (unfortunately it was across country and I couldn't attend)
. But I know she had a typical, traditional wedding, and then had a Star
Trek reception where the bridal party dressed in uniform and the groomsmen
came as Klingons who held swords up for the bride and groom to cross under.
We are big Star Trek fans but I did veto my fiance's desire to have the
busboys in Star Fleet uniform. :) However, at our wedding tomorrow we
will have a cake top that I made out of Star Trek action figures. It's a
real cake top base, but glued on top are dolls of Riker and Troi. Riker
has a top hat and Troi has a piece of lace on her head with beading as a
veil, and then a bouquet of little flowers in her hands. My friends love
the idea.
Have fun planning!

Haha! What fun!
I'll bet there's a brass quintet arrangement of the music (I know
there's a string quartet arrangement; but somehow, I just hear this
with brass)...It would be great going down the aisle!
