My router is a basic beginners Belkin starter kit which conforms to
11g/11b/3u
and 3 ..does that mean anything to you or should I take it back and get
some-
thing a bit more ambitious?? as I am on 10gigs at the moment and routers are
a bit new to me - or vice versa!!

as I am on -10gigs - 10mb even :) at the moment and routers are
Ideally you would want one that supports 802.11g (108m or more), or 802.11n
(300m)
108m = 13.5 MB/s
300m = 17.5 MB/s
If it was my money id buy myself a 300m , that way if you decide to upgrade
your line to 20 MB/s then you have enough headroom left there to take the
higher data rate on wireless.
This is a reasonably priced one, and the kind of kit my money would go on
And a 300m adapter to go with it. You can get a 150m one for 9 , but it
wont leave you with that extra headroom should you decide to upgrade your
broadband and spending 17 on one just now will save you purchasing another
in the future.
So 28 for the router and 17 for the adaptor ............... not a bad
price to be honest
And if you decide to just opt for buying a wireless adapter and keeping your
current router you have just bought, then here's a nice cheap adapter thats
more than good enough
Thanks for the info it looks okay (to my inexperienced eyes ) and it is
suitable
for cable??
