Anything & Everything's Topic Of The Day: Health Care In America

http://yourpalsal.blogspot.com/

At our dinner party last night the conversation turned to Health Care In
America. One of our guests, a [retired] registered nurse was relaying how
her mother was being bounced around to her siblings because of the cost and
time it took to take care of her ailing mother.
I mentioned how Cynthia's grandmother, who suffered from Altimeters for over
TEN years before dying, bled my in-laws bank account dry with medical costs.
They eventually had to claim bankruptcy to get her into a state runned
facility.

America is one of the last (if not ONLY?) industrialized country's in the
civilized world that doesn't offer a form of nationalized medicine. Which
brings us to today's questions...

Do you have any medical coverage?

If so, which one and what are the deductibles (if any)?

After listening to the presidential debates, do you think either Kerry or
Bush offered a viable solution?

If not... what do you suggest America ought to do about Health Care In
America?

For example, did you know --

-- see the 5-digit codes that identify the procedures?
-- there are over 5,000 of these codes.
-- the codes are copyrighted by the AMA.
-- all health care organizations or individuals who use these codes (and
everyone does) must pay a copyright fee to the AMA.
-- AMA makes over $40 million per year on the copyright fees alone.

But I wish you'd post it to my

that would find that interesting.

Tell them to read it here, then. That's what newsgroups are for.

IMHO, blogs are used by the "Blogger" to give their opinion of a topic and
then people reading the blog can offer their two cents to the issues
raised. Your blog appears to be just a plea for someone else's opinion on
topics that you offer no opinion on yourself. I doubt you'll see much
action on your blog site until you, as the Blogger, start taking a stand on
issues and writing about them instead of simply throwing out some ideas for
a topic of discussion.

YMMV

Sharky...

Anyone who knows me, knows that
I have strong political opinions.

But, you're missing the point of my
blog...

It's purpose is not to spread my opin-
ion but to put out some provocative,
thought provoking subjects that have
relevance to today's problems. I'm try-
ing to incite dialog instead flame wars
which seems too prevalent here.

I post the Topic Of The Day with the
hope that serious minded people will
respond to the blog.

I really think your missing the whole point of a blog. If you read some of
the most successful blogs, you'll always find the blogger offering up an
opinion on the topic of the day and there is almost always some well
researched information to back up that opinion. Hey, but it's your blog, I
was just trying to offer a little constructive criticism.

I can appreciate your
POV...

My "reasoning" stems
from the fact that I was
just kicked off a blog
whose owner did just
that...

It seems that you weren't
not only allowed to dis-
agree with his POV, you
couldn't even deviate from
it with an opinion!

I very rarely comment on
others posts for that rea-
son. I don't want to inhibit
their answers.

I have to quote Robbin Williams, when he said "Joke 'em
if they can't take a fuck". Come on man! There is no
reason to pastern your own "blog" after some other "blogger"
because they censor "their" blog. If you really want to
draw in contributors you'll have to do better than that. Do
your own thing, man. ;-)

You're the one who ran away
from The Guard...

Woody's started a new list of
all the old Guard and a lot of
guys I recruited from here.

Why don't you sub on and see
if you're right!?!

Or maybe it's just you and Pat?
I don't have to prove anything
to you, or anyone else John. I
did my tour and except for a
couple of extraordinary exper-
ience it wasn't traumatic. I told
the shrink that. I also told him
that you Grunts deserve all the
credit. If he found me to rate a
70% PTSD rating then that was
HIS call.

This vendetta began after I got
shot in the car dealership... so
is it about that, that's got all your
skives in a bunch? Was it all the
awards and recognition? If it's
all about that, then I had nothing
to do with that either... it was all
Sully's doing.

Why don't you give me a L/L or a
B/C and lets discuss this like
men!?! I always considered you
a friend and respect you for your
tour. When you [first] came out
of left field with this, the truth is, I
was stunned.

I sick and tired of this bull shit. If
you've got a problem with me,
then take it up with ME and stop
acting the fool in front of the trolls.

Well...

This points out just how
valid your suggestion is.

Is it safe to assume that
since you use terms like
"piss off" and "cheers"
your a Limmy?

Are you a Vietnam Vet
or have you ever served
in a war?

As for directing me to an

I live in a rural area and I
have two bad knees and
a broken back which has
limited my physical activ-

The ONLY reason I came
back here (since it's been

was to post my blog.

The only reason I contin-

particularly against people

you're the troll I that I be-
lieve you to be!?!

Are you referring to the man who, while still a reserve officer went to
Paris on at least two occassions and communicated with the NVA and NLF? The
guy whose executive director fraudulently claimed to have been an officer in
the USAF who had been injured during an aircraft crash in Danang. The guy
who the VVAW subsequently termed a "Self Promoting Opportunist". That guy?

He didn't do a damn thing to help hasten the end of anything. The draw down
had been in effect long before he even got involved with VVAW.

Hi Nigel...

Lemme ask you this: How many men
were killed between the time Kissinger
dilly dallied around the "peace" table
and the last man lifted off the embassy
in Saigon?

It's easy to play Monday Morning Quart-
erback 30 years down the road.

Since the election is over I really don't
care to continue this debate...

But when push comes to shove all one's
got to do is compare what the two were
doing between '71 and '75. If you have
to chose between the lesser of two evils
what is your choice?

If that's not enough to convince you, just
look at what Bush has done in the past 4
years... nothing!

nigel ol bean, ya gotta understand that Sal and his buddies have elevated

On the contrary... It was just a matter
(as usual) of voting for the lesser of
two evils. Military records aside, just
based on performance, I would have
voted for Kerry.

George Bush has failed at every thing
that was HANDED to him. He's made
a mockery of the POTUS.

How can you say something like that!?!
Bush sat out the war in the NG and was
AWOL on top of it all.

You degrade another decorated, wound-
ed Vietnam Vet over a Favorite Son and
you can make a statement like the one
above!?!

As for the "other Kerry"... Had he chose
to run I'd lay 100 to 1 that the (Not So)
Swiftees would have vilified him as a
murder... just look at what they did to Mc
Cain!!!

No he didn't carry a camera... he wrote a
book and was ripped apart for it.

We all know what on in Vietnam. It might
not have been the norm but can you hon-
estly sit there and tell us that autrocities
didn't happen on any given day?

ME... you're the one that's draging this shit
up (AGAIN!). I can give two fucks. I have
no kids so you have to live with Bush's leg-
acy, not me!

All I give a fuck about is what goes on with
in my AO and CP. When the rag heads be-
gin to cross the Delaware River, then it'll be
time for me to lock and load.

You all deserve what you get!!!

Obviously you know me AND our Canadian

About 8 thousand if we consider that the "secret" talks began in 1970. I
just don't believe that Kerry had anything to do with the US getting out any
sooner than it could. We began removing troops in 1968/69 and the draw down
was steady. Kerry didn't even get involved in the Anti War bit until 1970
or so.

> It's easy to play Monday Morning Quart-

It certainly is - but the fact speak for themselves. The Paris peace
accords were signed in January 73 - the last combat troops left in March of
that year. Over 360 died subsequent to the signing of the accords and the
fall of Saigon in 1975. It is my opinion that Kerry's involvment in the
Anti War debate was because he saw it as an avenue to bigger and greater
things for himself

Actually I suppose the same is true of Vietnam - it's over. What happened -
happened.

I think that choice is obvious - the American people have spoken already. I
just don't see how you can compare a man who dishonored his uniform and his
oath by travelling to Paris and meeting with the enemy. While it may not
have been a criminal act, or a violation of the UCMJ because he was a
reserve - it was most certainly dishonorable. The honorable thing to do
would have been to resign the commission - then do whatever he felt he
needed to do.

Ahh c'mon if you're a Bush supporter he's done a hell of a lot. If you're a
Bush detractor - then he's started the beginnings of WWIII. But he
certainly hasn't done "nothing". On the other hand, John Kerry's record of
accomplishments as a public servant is ????????????????

what... Peace With Dignity!?!

By 1970 the (Silent) Majority of
Americans were against the war.

No one wanted to be the last man
killed!

And, I have no doubt Kerry had
aspiration of becoming president.
He makes no qualms about im-
mitating his idol, JFK. At least he
planned on becoming POTUS. Is
there some thing wrong with that?

Bush had no aspirations... period.
His father bought him the job with
the intent of using Cheney as his
handler with the sole intent of start-
a war with Iraq as pay back for the
assasination attempt in exchange
for giving Haliburton an unbidded
contract in the rebuilding process.

What by 3 million votes... the lowest
mandate by a sitting president. Bush
didn't win... Kerry lost!

Consider the times. Nixon's parinoia
had the FBI hounding anyone that
was anti-war. He did what he thought
was necessary. Most were consider-
ed unsung heros at the time. What
if Ron Kovac ran for president? They
were extreme times that called for ex-
treme measures!

What... lost 3 million jobs, 3 million
with out health care, the largest def-
icite in the countries history after he
inherited the largest surplus. Start-
ed an illeagal war, disenfranchised
the rest of the free world, caused a
rise in terrorism in Iraq.

And on and on...

Surely you jest. Bush was only in office for what 11 months when 9-11
happened.

The plans and preparations for the attack had been years in the planning.
The 19 who committed the attack had been in the United States prior to Bush
coming into office.

Neither the CIA nor the FBI had any relevant intelligence which would have
prevented the attack. You wanna talk about the FBI agent in Arizona who
wanted a canvas of Middle Easterners who were taking pilot training? Bush
had nothing to do with the failure of the FBI Hqs to follow up on that
request.

You wanna talk about the FBI interest in searching Moussaui's computer -
Bush had nothing to do with the decision by by the idiots at FBI Hqs to not
allow a search warrant.

You wanna talk about the briefing on Al Qada that Bush got in Crawford which
stated they planned to attack the US - there were no specifics.

The 9-11 commission recognized all of this and certainly did not come to the
conclusion that the 9-11 attack was preventable. It is disengenous to claim
that prior to 9-11 anyone would have though that hijackers would use a
civilian airliner filled with passengers as a weapon.

If you want to cast some blame for 9-11 - perhaps you should consider the
fact that the previous administration failed miserably to adequately answer
the previous attacks - World Trade I, The Embassy bombings, The attack on
the Cole. This failure most certainly lent credence to the belief by the
terrorists that America would not answer back in kind if attacked.

Our response to 9-11 undoubtedly sent shockwaves throughout the ranks of Al
Qada - the sleeping giant had awakened and was pissed off.

No Sal - the Bush administration had nothing to do with the failures to
recognize a gathering threat. Those failures were brought about by years of
systemic paralysis and neglect of our intelligence functions. Of the
failure of agencies to communicate, turf wars, and outright beauracratic
incompetance. Those symptoms were present not only in the competing
intelligence agencies, but also in other agencies such as those involved in
drug law enforcement - whilst that may have been corrected in the FBI and
CIA - they still exist to this day in the other federal law enforcement
agencies.

Lest we not forget the inaction of the Senate Intelligence Committee, of
which John Kerry was an absent member for years before the attacks, for
their inability to recognize the threat. And John Kerry in particular for
his many attempts to slash the intelligence budget.

How about the SPECIFIC briefing that
Condi Rice was grilled on in front of the
9-11 Commision? The one she said
had no relevent Intel on 9-11. The same
one that just about gave the date and
time of the attack!?!

Which version of the 9-11 Report have
you read? Why do you think Bush & Co.
tried so hard to not have a commison or
why he had to testify ion private with his
fucking puppet master, Cheney, at his
side?

His FIRST priority was to get Hussein on
any flimsy Intel he could gather. 9-11 was
a God send for Bush. He hadn't done a
fucking thing prior to it and it's the ONLY
that got him a second term... by a mere
1% of the votes cast!

His a stumbling, mumbling fucking idiot. I'll
rest on history's accounting of him as the
POTUS. His legacy will haunt us for years
to come.

What are you yammering about? Clinton
approved a drone attack on Bin Laden in
Afghanistan. The CIA refused to arm it.

What about the blind cleric and his co-
horts who are sitting in a fucking federal
for the last ten years!?!

> Our response to 9-11 undoubtedly sent shockwaves throughout the ranks of
> Al Qada - the sleeping giant had awakened and was pissed off.

Yeah.., so much so that he laughs at us
every few months via video tape. That's
why Bush backed off on Afghanistan and
went after Iraq. Our Intel has proven had
nothing to do with 9-11 or Al Queda. Bin
Laden despided Hussein! The only thing
the war in Iraq has accomplished is to in-
sure a never ending recruitment of terror
insurgents around the world and to push
any Muslim country who was sitting on
fence to aide them.

Nigel, I have too much respect for your in-
teligence and common sense to believe
that you would allow yourself to buy that
line of crappola.

Granted the Inteligence community has not
shared their Intel to better communicate the
9-11 incident but to say that Bush was not
a fault for ignoring the individual warnings
is pure bullshit!

Maybe it wasn't toally preventable but when
he chose to make Iraq his # 1 priority he
gave Al Queda the leg up they needed to
get their mission accomplished.

Ken...

You're right! I came [back] here solely to post my
blog's Topic Of The Day and allowed myself to get
drawn back into a flame war with Dumb (JV) and
Even (If that's at all possible!?!) Dumber (Patrick).

I can handle those two moronic assholes with the
left side of my brain tied behind my back.

But, worse yet, I've allowed myself (AGAIN) to be-
come the poster boy for the right wing nazis in the
room to intice me into a political debate. Even if
any of the bullshit was relevant or made a pimple
on a elephant's ass look any different it's still noth-
ing but a waste of [my] time.

So, on that note, I bid you all a (not so) found ado-
do! This jernt has deeriorated into a shit slinging
contest and has about as much to do with Vietnam
and those of us who participated in it as Ringling
Brothers three ringed circus.

I'll leave you all (for the time being) to revel in your
msery. That's not to say I won't be back from time
to time to say hello to you po' misfortunate maso-
cists who insist on taking this shit on a daily basis.

Until then...

If I don't see you in the future... I'll see you in the
pasture where the bullshit is thickest!

Semper Fidleis...

Your "Pal",

Sal

I believe them before I'd believe John Kerry. The facts are pretty glaring
to anyone with eyes open when reading them. Suffice to say, John Kerry
could answer all the questions raised by releasing his complete military
records for review. His work for the communist party is even easier to
sort out, because is documented in publicly available records from the time
before, during, and after his service release from the Navy.

I have no alliance to any of those people, they are "spinners" just like
the lefties in the major news media. The fact that I agree more often with
people like them, only means they provide sources for their information
that are more often accurate than the likes of C_BS. You're free to hate
them all you want, but the outlook for the old "Liberal" media is not
looking too good, and there's talk of yet another "Fox News" network coming
soon.

I think they call themselves "progressives" now, but they are actually
socialists and believe all of societies woos can be solved through
government and taxes.

Did you know that George Soros is reported to have spent $52 million of his
own fortune to make GWB look like the root of all evil? He didn't fair too
well in my opinion.

Being on observant in this world is far better than being vacuously lead to
the slaughter like a sheep, IMHO YMMV.

I hope he realizes he has just set himself up for a huge case of almost un
defendable identity theft and credit fraud.. as we speak there are probably
500 little scumbag leftists running around creating new bank accounts with his
info and using his credit history to borrow money.. They'll be making
licenses, ID's, loans, fake accounts on paypal, etc..
When you lose or have a credit card stolen one of the formulated questions all
investigators ask is "did you willingly give anyone your pin# or ss # " that
sets the stage for the criminal prosecution that follows should they catch
them.. its also when most people who's kids snatched their cards balk because
it forces them to press charges or they have to take responsibility.. he *may*
have a slim chance but it aint even a decent bet.

he used to have an easy life but no more.. totally dumb.

Yep, and to be sure everyone whose server wouldn't allow binaries got to
look them over, he posted another message directing people to a binary
group where he posted them again. Lucky thing for Sal is, that Google
doesn't have the binaries, so they should only be on Usenet servers for a
couple more months... then they'll only be available on the hundreds of web
servers that will have archived them.
