"Documentary" film makers produce bullshit film claiming an Army SFC missing in action in Laos is living in a Lao village

you will find a review of a film that is to debut in a few weeks
claiming that an old man living in a Laotian village is Army Special
Forces Seregeant First Class John H. Robertson. The "documentary"
claims that "Robertson" was captured after his helicopter crashed in
Laos, escaped, was rescued by Laotian villagers, and decided to life
the rest of his life in the village.

The story is absolute bullshit.

Robertson was with MACV-SOG CCN. On May 20, 1968, he was a passenger
and the only American onboard a Vietnamese CH34 helicopter on a
medevac mission four miles inside Laos south of the A
Shau Valley. Some records indicate this was a resupply mission to a
Special Forces recon force that was in heavy enemy contact. As the
aircraft was landing, it was hit by ground fire, crashed into the
trees, and burst into flames, breaking up as it hit the ground.

Several helicopters made low passes over the crash site, but no sign
of survivors was observed. Enemy activity in the area prevented
Vietnamese ground units from reaching the wreckage.

Years ago investigators from the Defense POW/Missing Personnel Office
visited the village, met the guy, took hair samples and mouth swabs
from which DNA was extracted. This DNA was compared to DNA samples
from the Robertson family . . . not even close. Quit a bit of other
information was developed proving that this clown is just another
Laotian villager.

SgtMaj (Ret) Billy Waugh posted photos of the poseur on the MACVSOG
website and the following warning: �This guy posing as Robertson has
been determined to be a fraud by the FBI. Be aware!�

One of the early promoters of this story is a Ruckersville, Virginia,
resident named Edward T. Mahoney. In a January 8, 2009, note
addressed to Senator McCain, Mahoney claimed that two of his
�associates� [I presume Thomas & Joseph Faunce] currently were in
�face to face� contact with SFC Robertson.

The Faunce brothers appear to be associated with a Christian-based
organization called Frontline Outreach Ministries.
