Percentage of slaveholding households

From time to time someone brings out the percentages of households which
owned slaves in the slaveholding states/south (usually around 25%). I was
wondering if some kind soul would point me towards the citations for that.
A web site would also be ideal.

I presume its in the FAQ somewhere but I don't see it on my new spool at
the moment. I guess a poiunter to the FAQ as well would be nice.

The information is in the 1860 Census -- more correctly, I think it can
be gleaned from the Census. A table of state-by-state percentages based
on that data is at

Column 2 = Farms = total number of farms
Column 3 = Slavers = total number of slaveholders
Column 4 = Slaves Per = slaves per slaveholder
