Civil War Units File, Version 1.6

The next version will be posted in September.
The purpose of this file is to let people know what units they are
interested in and (presumably) have at least a little information on
(from pension records, books, etc.). Typically, so far, the contact
person had an ancestor who was in the unit. If you see a listing for
a unit that you are interested in, you can send the contact person
email and share information. The idea is not necessarily to find
people with the same ancestor; people can share info on what action
the unit was involved in, how the soldiers lived, etc.
Union units are first, by state; then Confederate units by state.
Within a state the units are organized by number (1st Infantry, etc.).
Anyone who'd like to add your info to this file, please send me email.
Please try to use the same format as the entries here, starting with
the number of the regiment or whatever, and including your address on
each line. If there's anything in your entry that is not obvious
(e.g. some states had both Union and Confederate units), tell me!
If I add your entry and get something wrong, also tell me (politely).
If you have suggestions for improvements, I'd be glad to read those too,
but there's only so much I can do. It might be nice to add the names
of the soldiers, but that would make the already large file even larger.
