COPIES OF THE INFORMATION ENCLOSED HERE, HAVE ALSO BEEN SUBMITTED AS A 70 PAGE BOOKLET TO THE INS (CHICAGO) AND U.S. DEPARTMENT OF LABOR (DETROIT, WAGE HOUR DIVISION). My case is still pending ......

I HAVE DEDICATED THIS ARTICLE TO ALL H1-B SOFTWARE PROFESSIONALS.

Reading Computech Corporation's profile on it's website at
www.computechcorp.com makes me laugh. Mr. Ram Kancharla, the CEO and Mr. Venkat Daverpalli, the President give themselves too much credit. I must say you chaps are nothing but a bunch of scoundrels making money at the expense of poor Indian Consultants. There is no difference between your mode of operation and that of a pimp's.

For those of you who do not know what I am talking about, let me summarize a little history here. There are tons of Companies like Computech in India. If you are an Indian, you will know what I am talking about. Such companies act as ''body-shoppers'' or as ''middle-men'' to U.S. companies.

Computech has branches in both the U.S, Canada, as well as in India. Computech is the mother company of Comp-U-Learn, a vocational computer training school. You can learn more about Comp-U-Learn from their website at www.compulearn.com. I mentioned this school because it also plays an active part in breaking H1-B laws.

Computech has been actively recruiting management staff on H1-B visas (Indians Only) for it's school viz. Comp-U-Learn from Canada. The INS paperwork says that the ''staff'' are highly-skilled software workers. From my encounter with the ''staff'', I found out that these chaps did not have an prior experience with computers. It was just an easy way to bring in cheap labor. My friends, they are pulling wool over your eyes.

Branches of Computech in India require it's employees who are willing to work in the U.S., to pay a lump sum of money somewhere in the neighbourhood of Rs. 200000 which works out to be approximately $4500 per head. This amout covers a guaranteed H1-B sponsorship and accomodation in the U.S.

Consultants brought to the U.S. are made to live below human standards. They are housed as 5 to 6 people per apartment. Computech pays only $500/consultant/month, saying that until the consultant is placed with a client, they will not receive their full salary as mentioned on their agreement. THIS IS IN DIRECT VIOLATION WITH H1-B LAW REGARDING PAYMENT OF WAGES AS WRITTEN BY THE DOL AT WWW.DOL.GOV.COM.

Please keep in mind that 90% of these consultants are engineers. The fellows resigned their jobs in India and joined Computech hoping for a better future. During my tenure with Computech, there had been fellows prior to my hiring, sitting on the bench for upto a year earning $500/month.

Computech Corporation has violated every H1-B rule ever set by the U.S. Department of Labor regarding payment of wages. For those of you who are unaware of this fact, it is unlawful to keep a H1-B employee (whether on the bench or assigned) for more than a month without paying them the wages as specified in their agreement. I can give you a phone number to the U.S.D.O.L, plus adequate reading material to verify this.

THIS LAW CAME INTO EFFECT ON OCTOBER 1998 AND CAN BE VERIFIED BY ANY IMMIGARTION LAWYER AT WWW.IMMIGRATION.COM, OR EVEN THE INS. SUCH CONSULTANTS, BY INS LAW ARE CONSIDERED ILLEGAL. IF HE/SHE HAS BEEN WTIH A COMPANY ON A H1-B FOR MORE THAN A MONTH WITHOUT SALARY, HE/SHE WILL HAVE TO LEAVE THE COUNTRY. I HAVE VERIFIED THIS DIRECTLY WITH THE CRIMINAL INVESTIGATION DIVISION OF THE INS AT CHICAGO.

If this law were not true, Computech would not have moved a bulk of it's consultants to Canada in mid 1999 fearing a raid by the INS. Cowards! They had 100 consultants sitting on the bench on a salary of $500 at that time.

What U.S companies are not aware of is that, 90% of Computech's recruits have not seen a single day's work of the experience they quote on their resume. It is all a fake. That is why most of the experience quoted on the resumes will be with companies from India --- experience that can never be verified. And if the work experience is from the U.S, this is how it works.........

A consultant X (From Computech) may be currently working in company XYZ. Consultant Y, during a client interview with comapny ABC, gives X as a reference, saying that they both worked on some ''Project'' in company XYZ. Consultant X backs this story up ... and voila!, you have a placement. Unfortunately due to time constraint, U.S. clients do not bother to investigate further as they take your word for it.

No wonder Computech boasts a growth rate of 280% in the past 2 years. If you cheat, who the hell wouldn't. It should be brought to your attention that all the 250 consultants of Computech are Indians on a non-immigrant visa. Ever wonder why Computech does not hire an American? Simple --- if the same treatment was rendered to a citizen, Computech Corporate's ''brown arses'' would have been kicked all the way back to Andra Pradesh.

The sad part is that due to the greed of Corporate Monkeys sitting in Detroit and in New Jersey, consultants cannot even change the company as they do not have any paystubs (a must in order to transfer the H1-B) to show their next employer. Computech uses this to twist your arm. They know you cannot change your company, and hence have to dance to their tune.

But did you know that Computech Corporation has, and to my knowledge (from a former beneficery) still been FAKING PAYSTUBS to ensure smooth transfers of such liabilities. Interesting eh?

SHAME ON YOU INDIANS for exploiting your fellow country men and shame to those to know such things go on but still let it happen. Last but not the least a sincere ''FUCK YOU'' to Venkat Daverapalli and Ram Kancharla who still owe my $16500 in unpaid wages. Mr. Amar and Mr. Devinine --- Keep up the good work of faking resumes!

Before I conclude, I do have one question for Mr. Kancharla, the CEO of computech. The H1-B visa is for a highly skilled laborer. It means you are replacing a U.S. citizen's job because nobody else qualified enough at that time was found to do the same. SO WHY ARE YOU TRAINING YOUR CONSULTANTS ON AMERICAN SOIL IF THEY ARE SO BLOODY ''HIGHLY SKILLED''?

I hope the INS and the U.S.D.O.L. will take the neccessary steps to curtail such illegal activities. As for U.S. companies, I hope this will be a wake up call for you to scrutinize your employee's references in detail.

I can understand your feelings.

Have you thought of suing the company. There must be many ex-employees who
would be
with you if you lead the efforts

If you need i can direct you to some lawyers who are experienced in this.
