Is anyone else in the same situation???

Bought a car, and can't drive without another licensed adult present.
Sheeeshhhhhhh.. at my age, what next??

Has anyone applied for their Indiana Driver's License? Did you have to
do the 60 day wait on the Learner's Permit until you could take the
driver's test? And your out of country license is void after 60 days of
relocating to the US?

Thanks for any shared experiences.

Jo I have heard that & cant believe they operate like that. I will be
in Indiana when my visa is approved & cant believe that I will have to
have a learners permit. I think it is so unfair to pick on us like
that. Cant imagine having a learners pemit after having driving here
for 30 years its crazy
Cheers

Been there, done that, got the t-shirt.

Yep, you got to wait the 60 days, sucks don't it? I drove about on my
loansome anyway, of course what I did is not legal but I reckon if I got
stopped I would act dumb and show my British Licence and repent my driving
sin. Don't know how you are covered insurance wise if you have a bump,
guess you wouldn't be, but you can't put your life on hold for 60 days.

You take your chances. Half the people driving about these days aren't
insured anyway, join the club and be the cause of insurance premiums going
sky high. ;-)

Wow, I haven't even begun to worry about things like this. Focusing
on getting there first. I already went through graduated licensing
here in Ontario. I know how to drive! But I guess they must really
enjoy wasting resources by retesting everyone. Eh, that's
government for ya...

That bit about needing to have another licensed adult present sounds
troublesome, since my fiance doesn't drive. Does it apply to everyone?
There's a similar rule in Ontario, but if I remember correctly, certain
people can get around it (i.e. those who have had certain foreign
licenses for a certain length of time, but I guess that doesn't cut it
in Indiana?)
