I'm in the middle of K3 processing for my wife in India and had a
question about the Police Clearance Certificate (PCC). She had a new
passport issued with her married name within the past 2 months. Having
read the reciprocity site in regards to the PPC, they just seem to
indicate that PCC issued by the local passport office is enough for
anyone having gotten a passport within the past 6 months.

That's the URL which contains what I'm talking about.
Now it would be great if anyone else having gone through this process
recently would vouch for the validity of this claim. As far as the
other things I've read, they seem to suggest that my wife has to get a
PCC from any place she's stayed after turning 16. While not
necessariyl impossible to get, this would require a considerable
amount of travel on my wife's part and I would very much like to avoid
that if possible.
Would getting the PCC from the local passport office and the local
police district where she's been residing for the past 5 months be
enough to please the Mumbai consulate people????
Your thoughts please.
Regards,
Ashwin
