Metal Slug
Golf(I hate real golf but love this game)

1> Samurai Shodown - I've been a fan since SSI and this little game is just
heavenly!
2> Bust A Move Pocket - So addictive it should be banned from the market.
3> Neo Cup 98 - Reminds me of some older NES soccer games, pure fun!
I'm still trying to find KOF2 and definately cannot wait for Sonic (Dec 3)
and SNK Vs Marvel (late Dec)???
Tom, I saw Beast Buster's today at EBworld, any comments (ie- Graphics,
gameplay,etc) would be greatly
appreciated!

Beast Buster is I guess what you would call an action RPG although there is
more action than RPG. The graphics are nice and detailed with a nice
variety of monsters and settings. I am 5 levels into the game right now and
I have stopped progressing in the game to build up my weapons. Speaking of
which this is in my opinion the strong point of the game. You are given a
simple gun and must find an Oum(egglike thing I forget the name) and another
gun and then you can merge the Oum and the simple gun to create a more
powerful gun. As you progress you find more Oum's and other weapons and can
merge the 2 together. But if you collect enough monsters you can then feed
them to your weapon and if you collect enough then you can evolve your
weapon. For example the simple gun that I got in the beginning of the game
was fed 100 enemy points(some enemies are worth more points) and I had the
choice to evolve the gun into one of three other guns a machine gun, laser,
and 2 way shot gun. Depending on what you choose decides the evolving
nature of your gun. I have to collect 200 enemy points to see the next
evolution of my gun and so on and so on each time the decision you make
before effects the route that your weapon takes(many variations:). Not
happy with your gun format it and start over from scratch. My only
complaint so far is that the gun that you have to use to capture the enemies
is very weak so I am forced to blast the enemies with my machine gun to
weaken them and then use the capture gun to finish them off. Enough about
the gun. The gameplay consists of wandering around areas that are sometimes
towns, caves, towers...etc and destroying all the baddies that range from
skeletons, policemen, ogres, knights, flaming undead...etc(quite a lot of
enemies and a nice variety). With some end bosses thrown in the mix. I am
currently fighting one that is actually quite a challange and really makes
you think/no spoilers. Graphically I have no complaints so far and the
music is just okay and pretty good in other areas but I feel that this isn't
the strongpoint of any handheld so far. I guess that you can tell from the
length of this that I feel that the game is pretty good so far and I would
recommend this to both RPG and action game fans. It has the same action as
an overhead Metal Slug for the Neo Geo Pocket but with zombies instead of
soldiers. Let me know if you want some exact details as dinner is already
cold and I need to go. I am cotemplating writing a FAQ for the game but
FAQs are timely things.

Still working on it , like you I've got to the end where you face the 90s ,
no guard and diminishing energy, but i keep getting panned by rygal , its
those damm electric charges that keep getting me , plus it takes soooo long
to get there only to get beaten in a couple of seconds. But i find myself
wanting to see what happens after :o)
