Hello, all -- I need avice regarding a Philips/Funai 13" TV-VCR combo.
Old story -- tape got stuck and wouldn't eject. Tried the usual
suggestion -- unplugging and waiting -- to no effect. Opened up the
unit and was able to extract the tape, but when I put everything back
together and turned on the unit, the tuner came on and worked, but the
screen read "T-eject" and the unit shut off after a few seconds. Same
thing every time I turned it on. Opened the unit again, and thought I
pulled the plug connecting the VCR assembly to the rest of the TV,
hoping I would just bypass the VCR altogether and use only the tuner
(all I really care about anyway). But the same thing happens, except
now the tuner screen reads "C-eject" before shutting off. Is there
anything I can disengage, disconnect, disable or hack to make the TV
tuner still work? Again, I don't care about the VCR part anymore.

Thanks for any help you can offer.

Nevermind. I disconnected the VCR assembly, and manually turned the
gears until the eject mechanism was back in the right place (fully up
and ready to accept a tape). Reassembled everything and the TV works
fine now. Not gonna even try to use the VCR.
