My RPTV 5000 is cycling off after a few minutes of video. Then it will
restart again and the cycle starts again. I had a slight power surge in my
house recently and I don't know if this directly related to that. I've
tried unplugging my unit for a few minutes and plugging it in again.

Could it be my HD going bad? or a bad capacitor on the MBoard or Power
Supply?

A Replay will reboot itself if something isn't right. I've recently
heard of some problems relating to Winamp on a networked Android device.
You could try disconnecting the network cable from your ReplayTv. It
could take a LONG time (15 minutes) to boot but see if that fixes your
problem.

If that doesn't work, there could be a bad HD or corruption in the
Replay software. Note that reimaging or replacing the HD will cause loss
of all settings and recorded shows.

Interesting, I recently got a Acer A500 Tablet, and installed WinAmp, but
rarely use it. This problem started happening yesterday, but I'll give it a
shot.

If all else fails, I'll open up my ReplayTV box to see what maybe causing
the reboot.

UPDATE:

After leaving it in Standby mode for a day. It fixed itself. Not sure what
happened to cause it.
