RATMAN
Directed by Guiliano Carnimeo in 1988 and starring David Warbeck,
Nelson de la Rosa, Janet Agren and Eva Grimaldi.
What happens when you impregnate a monkey with rat sperm? You get
RATMAN of course! This gory Italian exploitation horror film
definitely has lots and lots going for it. Beautiful swimsuit models,
full frontal uncensored shower scenes (Eva Grimaldi), entrails, bloody
gore and Nelson de la Rosa as a two-foot tall rodent man with an
insatiable bloodlust! When the beautiful Eva Grimaldi goes missing,
her sister Janet Agren hooks up with hack mystery writer David Warbeck
in order to find her before she becomes the Ratman's next victim!
More and more people get chewed up as the story unfolds in a number of
scenes showcasing the Ratman's specific talents. He's always just
around the corner, in every nook and cranny, climbing up curtains, in
the refrigerator, digging through doors and right into your bowels!
Lots of bloody viscera and queasy midget action galore! Now you can
see this rare oddity completely uncut, widescreen and in English with
Japanese subtitles.
BLACK ANGEL
Directed by Stelvio Massi in 1989 and starring Tini Cansino, Valentina
Visconti, Francesco Casale, Carlo Mucari, Ida Galli and Renato D'Amore.
Stelvio Massi's incredibly sleazy giallo came late in the game but
contains all the right elements for those that prefer their mysteries
filled with sexual kink. Tina Cansino plays Arabella, an extremely
sexy and devoted wife by day and a fetish freak visiting brothels and
motels by night! Turns out, she's doing her nightly activities for her
invalid husband in order to get realistic details for his upcoming
novel! Unfortunately, wherever she goes someone with black gloves and
a very large pair of scissors is killing anyone that can link Arabella
to her nightly decadence! With victims murdered, stabbed and
castrated, lesbian inspector Valentina Visconti is on the case! Twists
and turns and several scenes of fornication will keep your libidos
running on high and this is one gialli where absolutely everyone,
including the heroine and the police, is a suspect! You'll want to take
a shower after this filthy Italian sleazefest is over! Despite some
digital censoring of genitalia close ups, this beautiful and sharp
print comes to you completely uncut and in English with Japanese
subtitles.
BLOOD VOYAGE
Directed by Frank Mitchell in 1976 and starring Midori, Jonathan Lippe,
Jennifer Brooks and John Hart.
A rich middle-aged psychiatrist is going to marry a young and beautiful
woman in Hawaii. He's traveling there by boat and it'll take days
to arrive so he's brought along some people in the hopes of turning
the whole thing into a pleasure cruise. There's his buxom,
money-hungry stepdaughter, an old friend just back from the war who has
been scarred by his experiences there, a bunch of edgy sailors, and a
disturbed patient named Amy. Amy gets to go along because the doc is
friendly with her father and they both thought the trip would be good
for her. There is nobody who is beyond suspicion once the bodies start
to fall! This is pure 70's Drive-In exploitation and that means
nothing less than high entertainment! There's also some gratuitous
nudity and violence to make sure things never slow down. Blood Voyage
is an extremely rare slasher movie that has been nearly impossible to
see for many years... until now! You can finally enjoy this very
elusive movie uncut and in English language with Japanese subtitles.
BROTHER FROM SPACE
Directed by Mario Gariazzo in 1988 and starring Agostina Belli, Martin
Balsam, Silvia Tortosa, William Berger and Eduardo Fajard.
A huge spaceship makes its way to our world and sends out a smaller
ship with three aliens in it to have a look around. Something goes
wrong and the three explorers eject to Earth in small pods as their
vessel explodes. Only one being seems to survive and, as is usually the
case, the local authorities just want to shoot at it and call the
military. The alien goes into hiding thanks to the help of a blind
music teacher who has psychic powers (Belli), and a sympathetic priest
with good intentions (Balsam). It turns out that the visitor just wants
to make nice, be friends with everybody, and would simply prefer to go
home rather than hurt anyone. His friends are looking for him, but time
is running out! An unexpected film that seems to be aiming for a
distinctly youthful audience with several scenes of the
extra-terrestrial performing cute little telekinetic tricks peppered
throughout the running time. There are the expected heartstring tugging
scenes as well and the special effects, though cool in their way,
probably won't impress many these days. Brother From Space tries hard
and has its moments, but is definitely not for everyone. Italian
science fiction die-hards, Agostina Belli enthusiasts, and possibly the
insatiably curious might find things to enjoy, but the pace is similar
to Distant Lights with a prevalent wholesome vibe/positive message
thing happening throughout. Inspiration can be traced back to films
such as ET and Wavelength (mostly ET), among others. Something
different for the adventurous, enjoy Brother From Space uncut and in
English language with Japanese subtitles.
RAGE TO KILL
Directed by David Winters in 1987 and starring James Ryan, Oliver Reed,
Cameron Mitchell and Maxine John
Somewhere in the Caribbean a dictator and his military force have taken
over the government. Blaine Striker hears about the trouble from his
distraught mother who worries about the safety of Blaine's younger
brother Glen, a medical student who is now a prisoner held captive in
the university he attends. Blaine smuggles himself into the area and is
instantly caught and tortured. He makes his getaway fairly quickly and
then proceeds to rescue his brother and all the other students held
captive. Oh, there's also the pretty newspaper reporter who becomes
the romantic interest. They all end up picking up guns and fighting for
their lives alongside a popular freedom fighter and his followers. And
as if that wasn't enough trouble for a group of average everyday
college kids, there's also that Russian missile factory that
everybody is trying to keep secret! Rage To Kill is as light on sense
as it is heavy on craptastic action! This is definitely a title that
falls squarely into the 'rough around the edges' category. It more
than makes up for it's numerous inadequacies with a hilariously
over-the-top performance from Reed, jaw-dropping dialogue by everybody
else, gratuitous nudity, and the constant violence and explosions! The
opening massacre culminates with Reed shooting one of his own soldiers
in the knee (punishment for gunning down a child) and then backing up
his helicopter right into him! After tearing him to shreds he giggles
and gives him the two-finger 'up yours' and flies away. It's
silly, far-fetched, completely implausible, and a whole lot of fun for
fans of bad-film and action trash! Recommended stuff for those who are
fond of things like The Last Match. Rage To Kill is now available to
you uncut, widescreen, and in English language with Japanese subtitles.
THE GODFATHER'S FRIEND
Directed by Frank agrama in 1972 and starring Richard Harrison, Krista
Nell and Erica Blanc.
Richard Harrison is Richard Maddock, a man who lives the good life on
an island far away from anything troublesome. There's only one catch:
when the telegrams arrive from the Godfather. Maddock must play the
part of a mafia assassin! He works himself into a nealy trance-like
state by recalling the horrible experieences he had with the mob as a
child. During a birthday party in young Richard's honor, severalmen
with guns broke in to slaughter and molest his family exclaiming all
while that "you deserve this!" Maddock's life runs pretty smoothly, for
the most part, until an old friend from Vietnam shows up. This buddy
from back-in-the-day shares similar occupational responsibilities and
that doesn't sit too well with those in positions of authority! As if
that wasn't enough there are the woman troubles this guy has! Krista
Nell AND Erica Blanc!? Itt's not as pleasant as it sounds... Plenty of
nudity, action and drama in this very rare film from the director of
Dawn of the Mummy! An excellent lounge-like soundtrack and a terific
story combine to create yet another Euro-crime classic. English
language with Greek subtitles.
