Does the Cld-D505 have the necessary output for a DTS decoder? Thanks,

DTS tracks are encoded into the PCM digital on the disc. So, any player
that has digital out (which includes most of the new ones) would support
DTS.

LD players need to have a coaxial or optical digital audio output (spdif)
to connect to a DTS decoder.

No. It has an AC-3/RF output for an AC-3 demodulator, but lacks the
digital outs required for DTS or digital prologic. Analog outpus are
of course provided..

I have a 505, and an Elite CLD-97, which lacks the AC-3 output, but
has the required digital output.
