A few weeks ago I read in this newsgroup that the Daily Special from Criterion
was Hard Boiled. This is one of my favorite movies, so I rushed to order, but
unfortunately the link from Norway to the US seemed to be down. I couldn't
connect to ANY server in the US at all. I tried the whole evening without
success.
The day after i emailed Paul Klinger at Voyager, asking him if there was any
possibilities of ordering the disc with the discount anyway. I immediately
received a reply where he told me to email him the shipping details, and he
would put in the order for me himself. I sent off the mail, and called in my
credit card details. He must have placed the order right away, as TNT
Worldwide Express in Norway received the disk from Fedex just a few days
later. It then took a week for TNT to deliever it, but that's another
story.....
After this I've emailed Paul and others at Voyager a few times, and always
received promt responses. So keep up the good work, Voyager!!
Oh, btw. the disc was great, too......

Ditto here. When my Munchausen disc turned out to have a pressing warp on
one side he not only arranged for a painless replacement (well, not
counting minimal postage) but had me send the defective platter directly
to him so they could try to determine the cause of the problem. Oh that
all companies cared half as much about their product.

I have nothing but good things to say about Voyager, too! My favorite
thing about them is how they stand by their product and, at least in all
my dealings with them, how they strive for customer satisfaction.
I purchased a used copy of "Invasion of the Body Snatchers" (CAV) from a
former rental outlet. To my dismay, the disc was in a serious state of
laser rot, and it was becoming unglued everywhere. I phoned Voyager and
they promptly exchanged it for a brand new sealed copy, pressed well after
the 3M glue fiasco that had accounted for the condition of the used disc.
They did this even though they knew that I had purchased it used.
Further, I had purchased "Shortcuts" direct from Voyager as a member of
their Criterion Collector's Club. I went through three badly defective
copies, all of which were exchanged promptly, until I finally asked if I
could simply order a different title. Happily, they agreed. I ordered
"Bram Stoker's Dracula" and it was in perfect shape. What other place
will allow you to exchange an opened disc for an entirely different
title. And, to top it off, "Dracula" was accompanied by a letter of
apology for the "Shortcuts" problem, and thanking me for my patience and
loyalty to Voyager.
I don't doubt that some of you are having problems with them (all places
can be 100% on top of things), but I've never had anything to complain
about.

What is so obvious is that we have a LD company that genuinely cares about the
business it's in. The discs are all very special as is Paul's contribution to
the group. I sometimes wonder if the guy is on line to avl 24 hours a day, so
fast are the replies.
Every day I drool over the Criterion special posting.I will be joining Paul's
club in January when I move to the US. No doubt.

>I've read so many negative comments about Voyager/Criterion lately, I felt it
>was time for a positive one, so here it goes....
I'll second this sentiment. I've never had any trouble with ordering
from the Voyager WWW site (except for discs being backordered, but
that's not their fault). Also, like Sverre, I've found Paul Klinger to
be nice above and beyond the call of duty in helping with difficulties
(like when their secure server bellied up). So add me on the happy
Web-customer list...

Me too. I've never ordered one of their LDs, however, I just received my
Complete Maus CD-ROM. It ended up being backordered, and after I had
waited 4 1/2 weeks for it to arrive, I e-mailed them. I got an answer back
within an hour that they had sent me the hybrid version (newly released)
instead of the Mac-only version, and that I'd have it within 3 days. I
got it, and found that they'd given it to me at half the price. I was
VERY pleased.
I plan to order *lots* of LDs from them (when I have a little more money)

> Does anyone have a phone number for Voyager/Criterion?
And this was after they were also late on delivering a the Spinal Tap
CD-ROM I was suppose to give to my son as a gift.
Now I don't usually judge a company on faltering in their service once,
but TWICE. Should I try for the third time... I THINK NOT!
