According to the info I dug up, the collection contains all of Tex's
MGM 'toons. Two of those toons are edited versions that were used
because of thier better print quality (well, that's the story I was
told) One of the edited 'toons is "Droopy's Good Deed" (I think --
the one with Droopy as a Boy Scout in a contest that ends up in the
Oval Office). I do not remember the other one. If you REALLY need to
know, I'll dredge up my references.
Otherwise, I recommend the collection highly. I enjoy it.
Does anyone have any first hand info on the "Happy Harmonies" set ?
I am wondering if it contains all of Barney Bear's 'toons.

: Its complete if you just count his work with MGM.....as far as editing
: the toons, I dont know about that....anyone know?
The only editing of toons that I am aware of is in "Droopy's Good Dead"
(or something like that, I don't have the liner notes in front of me).
Although there is already one sensitive racial remark/joke in the cartoon
(when droopy rescues Spike, who has burned up in a cabin and is black all
over, Droopy remarks "hey blackie, anymore babes in there?"); they also
edit some remark that is made to Spike after a wallet blows up in his
face--giving him that same black-face character look. It then cuts
straight to the next gag.
I would have never noticed it where it not for a review in "Perfect
Vision" or some other laser review mag.
If you're a big fan of 40's racial humor there's a handful of it in this
disc set, including "Uncle Tom's Cabana".
