I can only infer from the picture I saw a few years back on a Pioneer
HDTV laserdisc and monitor: the resolution was quite near film-quality
so I'd guess 1920x1080. One could almost see the detail on individual
leaves of a tree, and the shots of a European castle were breathtaking.

Yes, it breaks my heart that people just ho-hummed by it. I wanted to
grab them by the collar and shout, "Wake up, people! This is phenomenal
for home use." No one ever lost money *under*estimating the tastes of
the American public.
