Synopsis: In the film, "Flying Boat", a handful of pilots and mechanics are featured who have restored, fly, and maintain the last few airworthy examples of the flying boat, a magnificent aircraft from a long lost era of adventure and romance. The aircraft featured was restored and brought back to flying condition after being decommissioned and sitting in neglect for decades in the Tucson, Arizona desert known as the Boneyard. These aviators share a camaraderie and reflect upon their experiences and aspirations as to why they fly them today. With the capabilities of landing and taking off on open ocean, land, and even snow and ice, these venerable machines inspire dreams and speak to fantasy.

Critique: With a very special appeal to viewers with an interest in aircraft restoration and aviation history, "Flying Boats" is an inherently fascinating, informative, and entertaining documentary film that is especially and unreservedly recommended for personal and community library DVD collections.

Synopsis: Portwenn is full of festive fun, until Doc Martin has the grotto closed down because he fears Santa has something contagious, upsetting the children prompting his portrayer to show "Doc the Grinch". Of special note is the inclusion of the celebration special 'Farewell Doc Martin'.

Critique: A 'must see' special episode for the legions of fans for the long running Doc Martin television series, this special DVD edition of "Doc Martin: Last Christmas in Portwenn" from Acorn Media is especially and unreservedly recommended for personal and community library DVD collections.

Editorial Note: Doc Martin is a British medical comedy-drama television series starring Martin Clunes as Doctor Martin Ellingham. It was created by Dominic Minghella developing the character of Dr Martin Bamford from the Nigel Cole comedy film Saving Grace (2000). The series is set in the fictional seaside village of Portwenn and filmed on location in the village of Port Isaac, Cornwall, United Kingdom, with most interior scenes shot in a converted local barn. Fern Cottage is used as the home and surgery of Doctor Ellingham

Synopsis: A married couple almost divorcing become trapped in quicksand while hiking through a rainforest in Colombia. They battle the elements of the jungle and must work together to survive.

Critique: A grim thriller that is not for the faint of heart, the cast for "Quicksand" includes Carolina Gaitan, Allan Hawco, Sebastian Eslava, and Andres Castaneda. "Quicksand" is recommended for both personal and community library DVD film collections. Also included as a special feature is 'The Making of Quicksand'.

Critique: A riveting thriller of a film from start to finish, "The Dive" is an especially and unreservedly recommended pick for personal and community library movie collections. Highly recommended!
