Today, DVD Verdict posted reviews of BATMAN: THE ANIMATED SERIES:
SECRETS OF THE CAPED CRUSADER, BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER: THE COMPLETE
SIXTH SEASON, DREAM ON: SEASONS ONE AND TWO, HAROLD AND THE PURPLE
CRAYON: THE COMPLETE SERIES, THE MAN SHOW PRESENTS: GIRLS ON
TRAMPOLINES, THE REAL OLYMPICS, 7TH HEAVEN: THE COMPLETE FIRST SEASON,
SILK STALKINGS: THE COMPLETE FIRST SEASON, TEEN TITANS: DIVIDE AND
CONQUER (VOLUME 1), and VIVA LA BAM: THE COMPLETE FIRST SEASON:

BATMAN: THE ANIMATED SERIES: SECRETS OF THE CAPED CRUSADER (reviewed by
Sandra Dozier, overall score 75/100):
"I also like to think of this set as 'Batman Lite,' since these episodes
have very little (if any) violence or lone-wolf vigilante justice. On
the plus side, these episodes are heavier on the detective side of
Batman's character, and in the expert hands of the show's creators, this
is always a treat."

BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER: THE COMPLETE SIXTH SEASON (reviewed by Michael
Stailey, overall score 97/100):
"Joss is a master storyteller, laying the groundwork for the journey and
enabling his writing team to creatively determine how these characters
get from Point A to Point C. In a show like Buffy the Vampire Slayer,
it's the journeys, not the episodes, which are the most compelling."

DREAM ON: SEASONS ONE AND TWO (reviewed by Amanda DeWees, overall
score 89/100):
"I wearied of the constant parade of guest breasts -- nearly every guest
girlfriend has a topless scene, and sometimes casual bystanders do as
well. If you concocted a drinking game whereby you drank a shot every
time a woman takes off her blouse, you'd be unconscious well before the
end of Season One."

HAROLD AND THE PURPLE CRAYON: THE COMPLETE SERIES (reviewed by David
Packard, overall score 92/100):
"From the title, all I knew about this series was that it involved a
little boy named Harold, and that a purple crayon somehow fit into the
proceedings. Having been through the discs, I speak for both father and
son when I say it's a complete joy that we've discovered Harold and his
whimsical adventures."

THE MAN SHOW PRESENTS: GIRLS ON TRAMPOLINES (reviewed by Mitchell
Hattaway, overall score 30/100):
"I sat through every minute of it, and I'm still asking myself why I did
it. (Well, I was required to do it for this review, but I was also
afraid the moment I switched it off the girls would start making out and
I'd miss it.)"

THE REAL OLYMPICS (reviewed by Diane Wild, overall score 65/100):
"The Real Olympics is a documentary of the non-Michael Moore style, with
well-researched, balanced information presented using talking heads,
slightly cheesy recreations of ancient events, and still shots of
artifacts and illustrations. Unfortunately, unlike Moore's controversial
contributions to the genre, The Real Olympics is not something your
coworkers will be talking about at the water cooler any time soon."

7TH HEAVEN: THE COMPLETE FIRST SEASON (reviewed by Diane Wild, overall
score 74/100):
"7th Heaven has all the ingredients of a show I should hate. Sappy
storylines. Unrealistically good characters. The equation of religion
with morality. And yet...there's something unhateable about it. "

SILK STALKINGS: THE COMPLETE FIRST SEASON (reviewed by Rob Lineberger,
overall score 89/100):
"Rita tells Chris about a nice burger joint, but all we hear is 'I want
to rip that holster and hot-pink blazer off of your broad shoulders and
spoil you for all future women.' Chris replies with an offhand remark
about curly fries, and we could swear he said 'Sure, rip my blazer off,
you minx, but be ready for a three-day marathon of passion if you do!'
It is no stretch to say that Chris and Rita having coffee is as
watchable as some actual cop shows are today."

TEEN TITANS: DIVIDE AND CONQUER (VOLUME 1) (reviewed by Mitchell
Hattaway, overall score 85/100):
"I respect that you don't eat meat. Please respect that I don't eat
fake meat."

VIVA LA BAM: THE COMPLETE FIRST SEASON (reviewed by Bill Gibron, overall
score 93/100):
"We can live vicariously through Bam Margera and his 'take no prisoners'
approach to all facets of life, and we never have to pay a single cent
in legal or moral penalties for it. Like a one-man rebellion against the
growing ennui in a world warped by the malaise of the media, the guys of
CKY (which stands for Camp Kill Yourself, by the way) are out to grow
some funk and some fun of their own."
