Darn, I hope not. I just picked up Videodrome and Existenz for $6
each, minus the 20% with that code, and free shipping.

EVERY purchase you make from them will be tied to that stupid cash back
bait and switch crap they ALWAYS offer, even if you opt out. You may
even receive snail mail spam. I have been getting "checks" for $10 that
have join stipulations for cashing it. And they wonder why angered folks
find their way into office buildings, looking for company heads.

I forgot about that -- they're snail-mail spamming me, too, with that
"Great Fun" nonsense you allude to.

I don't know....I'm a frequent DDD shopper, and I get about one email
every two weeks, and have never received snail mail from them. But
then again, I get similar email from lots of merchants I deal with.
Geez....is hitting the delete button on an unwanted piece of email
really that annoying? Frankly, I'll take the savings and hit the
delete button later.

I hate spam with a passion. I've had his e-mail address for 12 years,
so I'm on every kook mailing list there is. That said, hey, at least
I can get cheap DVDs out of it, instead of just a headache. I don't even
remember seeing any DDDVD spam-- maybe my filter is taking care of it?
As for snail mail spam... well, there's a trashcan right by my mailbox.
If I don't want your mail, it never even makes it in my house.

If you don't know by now what's wrong with spam, it's pointless to
try to tell you.
While you may be a customer and may have chosen to receive their
emails, I am not, and I did not. (Even when I was a customer, I had
checked "no mail" in my preferences, but they ignored that, as they
ignore emails to customer service.)

Seriously, how paranoid do you have to *be* to confuse a website's own
mailing list, with *real* spam from sites that weaselly sell out your
address to shadowy bidders?
At least, whether or not I click "yes mail" (which, in DDDVD's case, I
do), it's a site I'll actually frequent some other time in my life, and
not trying to sell me Viagra supplements.
In snail-mail equivalent, yes, I can do without eight Land's End
catalogs a year just because I bought a sweater from them once, but
then, I don't have to throw e-mails in the recycling bin.
(Oh, and there's always that little "Privacy Policy" pop-up you can
check, just in case you're still worried about black helicopters
circling your inbox.)

Really? I used to be quite a heavy customer of theirs about 3 years back,
and the only emails I've ever gotten were related to my orders.

So...you're getting email from them, but have never bought anything from
them? That would be spam then.
If you did buy something from them, checked the "don't mail me"
checkbox(es), and still get email from them, then that's not quite spam,
but still just annoying. USUSALLY, a quick email to their sales or
support alias saying something to the effect of "I'm a customer who
doesn't want to get ads. Stop mailing me, or you lose a customer" results
in a quick apology and no more email. If not, I've taken my business else
where. If you want to be nasty, write a polite snail-mail letter to the
CEO, and attach adequately blacked out receipt or two from your purchases
from a competitor, just to show them how much business they actually lost.

infected computers, it sends hundres of unwanted email to your mailbox,
and it sends indentical messages again and again, that's the real problem.
