I firstly want to wish all a merry christmas and happy new year.

Now for my frustrating problem.

I recently purchased new copies of the old tv series, the outer limits. Now,
we have a western digital home entertainment unit and i want to transfer the
dvd files over to avi files and then load them onto the entertainment unit.
Try as i may, i just cant seem to work it right. The problem is me,
something i am doing wrong is my frustration. Is there any software that
will allow me to extract the 49 single episodes and convert them to avi
files and use them.

Any help will be much appreciated.

"Full DVD Ripper Free" might be able to do it. It works on many DVDs to
identify and extract episodes.

http://www.full-dvd-ripper.com/freeversion.php

It is free.

Make sure after you load your DVD that you select from the "Edit" menu "Show
Chapters". Then on the main screen uncheck everything but the chapters.
These will be your episodes. Pick an AVI Profile for export.
