Splitting multi dvd's

Is there software that will allow you to split multi dvd's into single short
movies. For example, I have 4 dvd's that hold the entire series 1 and 2 of
the original series of the outer limits. I want to split them into
individual movies and view them when ever. I've tried avs video converter
and a few others, but problems with sound appear.
Any help would be appreciated.

I got hold of a copy of dvd fab 8 and installed it, but i feel i have done
something wrong. I clicked split, thinking that it would split up the 8
separate movies of less than 400 megabytes each and give me 32 episodes from
series 1 and 17 segments from series 2. I found after splitting, it only
gave me half of each dvd so instead of ending up with 47 separate segments i
ended up with only 16 all told. What did i do wrong.
