Getting my evening fill of TV from a device with a 3.5-inch,
320-by-240-pixel touchscreen wasn't as painful as expected

Wow, not one mention of audio dropout or video freezup problems, not any
metion at all about black screen with No Signal types of problems. No
mention of any need for an antenna upgrade of any kind, and the only
complaints were video resolution and the price of the device/subscription
cost.

What do FLO TV do right in contrast to what ATSC did so wrong?

They chose a high robust OFDM sceme. This limits the total bitrate so not
even one HD subchannel could be broadcast. We would have had an SDTV
transition and IMHO HD would never have seen the light of day here.

Read the article again...

"I was unable to pick up a signal from the PCMag Labs, and needed to be
near a window in my apartment before content would appear."

But once he picked up a signal--I don't see where he said his audio dropping
out, or his video kept jerking or freezing, etc. and so that means those
problems weren't seen by that reviewer when using FLO TV.

Hey, you can get that too - if you want to pay a monthly fee.

As Robert Heinlein once wrote, TANSTAAFL. (There Ain't No Such Thing As
