Anyone seen this movie? It's supposedly coming out next week, but I don't
know when it will reach this tiny Port town where I live. If you see it before
I do, feel free to tell me about it (I love spoilers).
The plot apparently stems from the log of the Demeter, the ship that
carried Dracula from Carpathia to London. I can only imagine that the
story revolves around the horror the Demeter crew suffered as Dracula
took them out one by one.

Demeter' has been advertised on US TV as the scariest Dracula movie
ever. Previews have shown the vampire to be more Nosferatu with
his pointed ears than the Dracula that came from Carpathia.

Thank you so much for the critique, Marcovaldo. I know that I've got to see this movie.
It sounds like it lives up to its hype....scariest Dracula movie ever. Nosferatu is one of
my favorites,

I finally got to see "The Last Voyage of the Demeter", and it's just like Marcovaldo
described it..."a vampiric version of "Alien" as it is about a monster (Dracula)
hiding in the ship (the Demeter), picking off the crew members one by one.
If you've read _Dracula_ and are familiar with the story, the movie does follow the
Demeter's log...with a few additions...like some additional passengers (a girl,
a doctor, and a young boy). Instead of sailing from Varna to Whitby, the Demeter
goes from Carpathia to London, and the ship carries livestock along with the 50
boxes of dirt. All of these play a part in the story.
The biggest difference, in my opinion, is the ending, which I won't reveal, but it
seems to leave the movie open for a sequel. We shall see.
If you get a chance to see it, whether in the theaters or on video, it's worth
the watch. My only criticism is that almost everything was filmed at night, so
the screen was so dark that it was hard to see what was going on.
Still, if you're a vampire fan, you'll enjoy the movie.
